R32 GTR Clutch Slipper Instructions

Do you want to make 9-second passes at the track in your R32 GTR but don’t want to sell your organs for a gearset or sequential? Our “Clutch Slipper” is for you! It will turn any clutch into a predictable, consistent, and easy to adjust slipper clutch that only starts slipping when set to do so.

The kit includes the following:
– Custom mounting bracketry to bolt under the dash
– Delrin adjuster knobs
– Adjustable shock
– Mounting hardware

This is a custom product we have been developing in-house for a few years and have used it on multiple cars. This particular kit was designed for the R32 GTR but should fit all R32 models. This system will bolt in with the only modifications being mounting holes drilled in the clutch pedal.

Why do you need this?

One of the weakest points with the R32 GTR is the strength of third gear. You don’t have to search hard to find someone who has broken third gear once or many times. The main reason these parts fail is not always from high power, but from lightswitch-like clutch engagement. If your third gear doesn’t break on a WOT hit or dyno hit, it’s not breaking from high power when you shift hard into third.

The Slipper Clutch reduces or eliminates the clutch shocking your drivetrain by gradually engaging the clutch on shifts. It does so by slowing down the clutch pedal and does not tap into the clutch hydraulics. Both the damping rate and the point at which it starts damping the clutch are finely adjustable. The damping point adjustment is key here. If the clutch was simply damped the entire throw shifts would take a long time and ET would suffer greatly.

We have successfully run 5 back to back 9-second passes with a completely stock drivetrain in a heavier than full weight R32 GTR. Before those 9-second hits, the factory drivetrain endured two years of abuse and many very low 10-second passes. We have never let off the throttle to shift the car. No delicate shifting needed!
