The final product will be an &#8220;inferred&#8221; Flex Fuel tune. Please note that although this tuning option is commonly referred to as &#8220;Flex Fuel&#8221; tuning it is actually tuning based on &#8220;inferred&#8221; ethanol content using the HPtuners Flex Fuel OS. Since these vehicles are not equipped with an ethanol content sensor it is not possible to provide a true Flex Fuel tune. This &#8220;inferred&#8221; Flex Fuel tune when performed properly has fairly accurate calculations and performs well allowing daily driving with various mixtures of pump gas and ethanol. Since the ethanol content is &#8220;inferred&#8221; the calculations required can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes (and sometimes longer) to complete when changing gas\/ethanol mixture.
